Montana’s finest wade fishing streams.

The Ruby is one of our favorite rivers. It is easily one of Montana’s finest wade fishing streams, and PDO has some great angles to put you into the stellar water on what is normally a tricky river to access.

This quiet little river never disappoints; life’s troubles quickly fade in the aqua blue runs, meanders and cutbanks of the Ruby, especially when wrangling in the quality fish this river consistently produces. Big, healthy rainbows dominate the Ruby, especially the upper river below the dam, but there are plenty of browns to be had too.

Wrangling in the quality fish.

The Ruby fishes great from late March to late fall. As a tailwater, nymphing produces great results with hefty fish gorging below the surface. In the summer, you can count on head hunting big trout as they rise to clouds of caddis, drakes, yellow sallies, and PMDs. We also love stripping small streamers all year long.

Access is difficult on the Ruby, but we have you covered. Don’t miss a chance to fish this special river with us!
